Catalyst New Music brings ZAL & THE PHOENIX to local schools!

Thanks to a generous Creative Projects for Schools Grant from the Massachusetts Cultural Council, Catalyst New Music has had the pleasure of bringing Shohreh Shakoory's beautiful new fairy tale opera Zal & the Phoenix to schools around Boston!

Over 750 students in the Greater Boston area were captivated by the wisdom of this ancient Persian tale, the brilliant music of Shohreh Shakoory, and the gorgeous singing and storytelling of soprano Vanessa Naghdi.

A big thanks to the participating schools and all the students for being an incredible audience!
