Catalyst New Music is joining forces again with Boston Singers' Resource to bring you the 2nd annual

FUSE: Collaborations in Song!

FUSE is a uniquely collaborative song-development program for singers, composers, and poets that will result in the creation of amazing new songs that are tailor-made for the singers who will give their world-premiere performance.

We will be assembling 5 artist trios, each comprised of a singer, composer, and poet, who will together explore themes of mutual interest to develop a song or set/cycle of songs for a total of 8-12 minutes of music.

  • Artists with a collaborative spirit are strongly encouraged to apply, and we are committed to lifting up the voices of those who have been historically excluded from the creative process.

  • The instrumentation must be for one singer and piano.

  • Singers must be fully learned, memorized, and off-book for the performance.

  • Guidance and input from artistic staff at Boston Singers' Resource and Catalyst New Music will be available as desired.

  • All artists will be expected to attend the virtual Meet & Greet on Sun, Jan 7 from 3:00-5:00pm ET

  • All artists will be provided with a professional recording of the final recital performance. Composers/poets are encouraged but not required to attend in person. We unfortunately cannot provide travel stipends at this time.

Complete this application by Dec 22, 2023 to be considered, and don't forget to hit SUBMIT at the end! You will hear from us by Dec 27. Please hold Sunday, Jan 7, 2024 from 3:00-5:00pm ET (Meet & Greet) and the evenings of May 30 & 31, 2024 (Dress Rehearsal and Final Recital) in your calendar.
